ACADEMICS

Maria Regina School provides an education for the needs of the high-school bound students.  Maria Regina School curriculum meets all state, Archdiocesan and high school requirements.

Teachers are familiar with the Archdiocese Standard, California Common Core and Benchmarks that outline the grade-level curriculum for Religion, Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Physical Education.

Curriculum

Maria Regina School Curriculum celebrates the uniqueness of the child, as it is expressed in each child’s, personality, intelligence and potential for development.  It is designed to nurture the child in all dimensions of his or her life as it relates to the spiritual, moral, emotional, cognitive, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical development.

Our vision of education can be expressed in three goals:
  •     To enable the child to live a full life and to realize his/her potential as a unique individual
  •      To enable the child to develop as a social being through living and cooperating with others and thus contribute to the good of society
  •     To prepare the child for further education and lifelong learning.

The curriculum recognizes the importance of developing the full potential of the child. It seeks to develop an ethical sense that will enable him/her to acquire values on which to base choices and form attitudes; it endeavors to equip students with the knowledge and skills that will serve them in their adult lives; it also develops their capacity for creative expression and response and finally promotes emotional and physical development.  The curriculum articulates, not only by the content to be learned and the outcomes to be achieved, but a wide range of approaches to learning. Most importantly, it aims to enhance the enjoyment of learning and the motivation to learn.
