Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome all returning and incoming families to Maria Regina School (MRS). May the grace and peace of the Holy Spirit be with you and your family! We are looking forward to assisting you in fulfilling your spiritual and educational goals for the 2009-2010 school year. This school year will assure us of the many opportunities, challenges, changes, and graces to work diligently in pursuing a Catholic Education.

Maria Regina School (MRS) continuously strives for academic excellence and extracurricular accomplishments. It is of note that MRS offers many opportunities for our students to have a great time and make new friends with its variety of activities that students are urged to participate and perform, such as, The Academic Decathlon, talent shows, trivia bowls, musical performances, sports, and many others. This combination of academics and fun ensures a well-rounded experience that prepares our students for life.

It is the intent of the faculty to lead students toward becoming disciplined, productive, informed and fulfilled individuals.  To achieve these ideals, mutual respect and understanding must be present in the learning process on the part of all stakeholders. Maria Regina School administration and faculty believe that all students can learn. Therefore, our goal will continue to center on providing a safe and nurturing environment, where all are valued and appreciated for what they can contribute to the classroom, school and community. MRS will focus on the highest potential of each student and will foster an enthusiasm for becoming life-long learners.

Parental involvement is a very important aspect of every child’s education and is the primary factor in a child’s success. Statistics have proven that in schools where parents are involved in their child’s school and education, children have higher grades on standardized and alternative assessments, improved behavior at home and school, and better social skills and adaptation to school.  There are many ways in which you can participate in the life of Maria Regina. Our doors are always open.  Most parents find it extremely rewarding! Therefore, we encourage you to become a part of our MRS family.

Please accept my best wishes for an exciting, productive and successful school year at Maria Regina School . I am looking forward to continuing in our endeavor to create a culture of success for the new academic school year. If you should have any questions, do not hesitate to call the school office.  We feel that open and clear communication between school and home is important to the success of the educational program at Maria Regina School .

On our website, in our "Admissions" and "Parents" sections, you will find the required summer reading, school supply lists, uniform list and other pertinent information.   We will see you on August 26, 2009 @ 7:55am.
